Let's Dish 8/21 - A Giveaway!

I hope everyone is doing well! I got several magazines this week with fall themes on the cover. I get so excited about fall coming up! I find it's easier to cook in the colder months - am I alone in that? For some reason throwing together soups, stews and casseroles is faster and cheaper than making summer dishes. My best friend in the kitchen during these cooler months is my dutch oven, you know, The Big Red Pot. I love that thing. Every single thing I make in it turns out perfect. My husband once joked, "I don't care what you make for dinner as long as you make it in that." :) My mom always had a cast iron one like this one below:
Do you have a dutch oven? Would you like one?!? Thanks to CSN one of you will get a $60 gift certificate to any of their CSN stores to buy your very own! I browsed through their selection and they have so many to choose from under $60 and with free shipping! The 4 Quart Cast Iron one above is only $30 with free shippping - you could get two! Don't want a dutch oven? That's ok - pick whatever you like, it's your $60!

How do you win this $60 gift certificate? Here are a few ways. Leave a comment for each:

1) Tell us which dutch oven or product you would like over at CSN
2) Tell us your favorite "go-to" fall recipe
3) Follow the pot or tell me that you do

Good Luck and I'll announce the winner September 10th!

**there may be international shipping charges in the case of Canadian addresses (CSN only ships to the US and Canada)

I try not to use my oven in the summer and I can't wait for chicken pot pie and meatloaf with cornbread and white beans. I am like you I cook more in the winter. It just makes me feel cozy. It has been way to hot this summer to even thinking about baking.

My favorite go to recipe for the fall is.....
Marinate pork chops in soy sauce for 1 hour then rub brown sugar on each chop. Then in a big red pot OR crock pot put cream of mushroom soup & lay pork chops on top. Cook till cooked through & you will have awesome tender pork chops with a delicous gravy!

Vonda Axe said...

I have two big red pots so I have loaned one to my mom. She is a really good cook and she had been wanting one. I am ready for fall and using the oven more. Tonight is meatloaf, I have not made it in a while, but we had extra meat from making hamburgers this weekend. My favorite fall meal is either chili or meatloaf. And of course, I follow you.

I would love any dutch oven I can get. I love the pot and follow everyday! And I can't wait to start making pot roasts. I can make them in my crock pot but they come out so much better cooked in a dutch oven. Ahhhh fall can't wait!

I love the Emile Henry Round Flame Stewpot (in red, of course). I cannot wait for the weather to cool down to try the Coca Cola roast recipe. The very thought of the smell of roast and the sound of a football game on the tv makes me so happy.
