Simple Sweet Tea

I know - every single one of you probably already knows how to make Sweet Tea! I just wanted to share a little secret that I've heard from 2 very good sweet tea makers (my mom and mother in law). Here's the deal. Don't bring your tea to a boil. That's it. For some reason that brings out the bitterness in the tea and ruins the smooth flavor you're going for. Here's my recipe but feel free to share yours with us!

Ingredients
3 family size tea bags
1 cup sugar
1 gallon water

Fill pot 3/4 full of water, bring water and sugar to a boil and remove from heat. Add tea bags and allow to seep for 20 minutes. Pour into pitcher of choice and fill with remaining water. Pour over ice and offer as is or with lemon or lime wedges. Enjoy!

So going to CFA and McAlisters don't count as "making" sweet tea? Dang! ;)

McAlisters does have ridiculously good sweet tea!

I've been using the Lipton Cold Brew tea bags for a while now and I really like the tea. They don't leave the tea with a bitter taste either and it only takes about 3 to 5 minutes to make a gallon!

I've never tried the cold brew before - I'll definitely have to check it out!
