Homemade Hot Cocoa - Day 11

This really isn't baking per se but it is homemade and it definitely needs to be on your list of things to make this year! My friend Elizabeth had some homemade Hot Cocoa at her house tonight and it reminded me that I needed to post this! This is adapted from the recipe on the side of the Hershey Cocoa box with a few must do tweeks.

Homemade Hot Cocoa
Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup Cocoa
1/3 cup hot water
2 cups milk
1 can evaporated milk (like carnation or pet)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Miniature marshmallows or sweetened whipped cream

Stir together sugar, cocoa, water and salt in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil and stir 2 minutes. Add milk; stirring constantly, heat to warmish hot. Do Not Boil.  Remove from heat; add vanilla. Serve topped with marshmallows or whipped cream.
