Did you know that there are 'rules' about working with mushrooms? I didn't either until Rachael Ray told me on food network! Evidently you are never supposed to submerge your mushrooms in water. If you are not buying the ready to eat kind, you are to simply wipe each mushroom off with a damp paper towel.
It does take some more time but actually does a better job of getting the mushroom clean.
Also, when adding to a recipe remember to slice the mushroom into thick slices.
This way, it not only holds up to cooking but also makes it easy for the person that does not like them to pick them out :)
